About Us
The original Lancer Rugby Club was founded in 1983, but disbanded after six years.
Now, the Club has reorganized, with a much larger coaching staff, and exemplary support from parents and volunteers, and hopes to take the team to a higher level of excellence.
Our club is open to all students of Cordova High School, as well as students from other schools in the area where no high school Rugby club is available. Although we stress a "C" grade level or higher, it is not required to play at the current time.
The Lancer Rugby Club is not funded by any school, but relies on dues, fund raisers and mandatory volunteer time from all members and /or their family to maintain the organization.
Even the coaches are volunteers, and they receive no compensation but the gratitude of the players for their substantial contributions.
The Lancers compete in the Sacramento Valley Rugby Conference.
