Head Coach
Dan Rose

I began playing rugby in 1983 for the first Lancer Rugby Club.  This was the first year that saw rugby in Sacramento at the high school club level.  There were about 6 or 8 teams playing at that time.  I then graduated in 1985 and went on to play Men’s Club rugby for the Sacramento Rugby Club (Now, the Capitols).  In 1988, I had the awesome opportunity to spend 3 months down in the South Island of New Zealand, in Christchurch.  I played for the High School Old Boys team and learned the game at a higher level.  I played competitive rugby till about 1999.  I then took a little break and went on to play Old Boys Rugby (over 35’s) when I became legal in 2002.  Because I love the game and the benefits of being a rugby player, I decided to help the Lancer program reestablish in 2005 as an assistant coach.  In 2006, I accepted the position of head coach and am looking forward to the upcoming 2010season.
